IFTTT is already integrated with hundreds of services (see list here), so if you have any elements of a smart home, it would work wonders for you and make your guests happy.

BENEFITS OF BEING ABLE TO USE IFTTT WITH HOSPITABLE

If Hospitable integrates with IFTTT, it would use dates for your reservations and your check-in/check-out times. It would allow you to automate just about anything that your smart home is capable of.

Doing these things allows you to create a nice and welcoming home for guests to arrive to (first impressions matter) and has the fringe benefit of minimizing the use of unnecessary electricity.
