toggle OFF financial info in real time on owner portal

Problem → Showing financial data in real time introduces so many inquires from owners (i was at $3500 on jan10 and ended up for the month at only $2700, reservation cancelled? WHY? how much was refunded? Why did we refund? Did we get rebooked? how many days did we get rebooked? how much per night original reservation? how much per night on rebooked reservation? so, tell me again why guest cancelled? could you not do anything to avoid cancellation? ETC)
these are all questions i currently enjoy NOT having owners asking me about.

I LOVE full transparency in the oner statements and LOVE the owner to see their calendar in real time but really wish we could have the option of owner portal NOT include any financial info until owner statements are published.

    Hi @SSD Property Solutions ! Thanks for this feedback, I totally understand why you might want to hide this. I’ll discuss this with my team. To set expectations, this isn’t something we’ll likely have ready this quarter, but we definitely want to make this improvement for you soon.

    Question: do you have any owners with more than one property? I’m curious how you’d envision a scenario where an owner has 2 properties, and you publish one statement but not the other. If we only show finalized revenue, we would be showing ½ of their potential revenue for the month, instead of all. Is this a situation you’d find yourself in, or do you typically publish all statements at the same time, generally?

      YES - i have several owners with 2-6 properties
      i always process ALL owners statements at the same time. Owners receive their detailed statement and deposit in bank account on the 15th of the month for the prior month. I would never NOT publish at the same time. In the event of a negative balance (high repair, excessive owner stays, etc) then I process showing a negative balance and just carry that forward to the following month.

      NOTE: Every property is handled individually and separately. Each has their own statement and their own deposit. Almost all owners have a different LLC for each property and different bank account. The problem with the owner portal is it requires unique email address per company. I am having issues as i have sent invite to one property and it shows the other properties accepted but I can not access the information for the other properties.

      I just switched over to hospitable and need to send my owners a link to either access owner portal, invite as user with very limited access to calendar and then send owner statements after published with all the financial details or send them direct booking link. Most of my owners I have been managing for 6-7 years and are a bit adverse to change so i really prefer not to do one way now then change things up BUT i do think the owner portal with no real time financial metrics would be by far the BEST option. 🤔
