Time-based check-in/check-out blocking to prevent same-day turnover conflicts

Problem statement

Hosts currently cannot prevent same-day turnover conflicts without blocking entire days. If a guest checks out in the morning and another checks in the same afternoon, there's no way to block only the conflicting time slots (e.g., block morning check-outs when an afternoon check-in exists, or block afternoon check-ins when a morning check-out exists).

Current workaround

The only option is to use Preparation time, which blocks 1–2 full nights before and after each reservation. This prevents same-day turnover conflicts, but it also blocks dates that could otherwise be booked.

Impact

• Lost revenue: bookable nights are unnecessarily blocked even when same-day turnover would be feasible with proper timing
• Reduced flexibility: guests cannot extend their stay without contacting the host, even when the night is technically available
• Guest friction: potential extensions appear unavailable on booking platforms, leading to lost opportunities

Proposed solution

Add the ability to set time-based check-in and check-out restrictions that automatically prevent conflicting same-day turnovers. For example:

• Block morning check-outs when an afternoon check-in is scheduled the same day
• Block afternoon check-ins when a morning check-out is scheduled the same day

Hosts would be able to maximize bookable nights without risking same-day turnover conflicts, increase revenue from extensions and last-minute bookings, and reduce the need to manually manage calendar availability or message guests about extensions.
