Problem to solve for: have the cleaners started cleaning after the last guests and will it be ready for the next guest.
Solution: at a minimum, send an email alert when the cleaners (or some other defined users) have used their Smart Lock code. This would allow me to trigger updates and actions in Zapier. A more complete solution would be to build something in hospitable and alert when there might be cleaning issues.
As is, this is a somewhat manual exercise for me. I’ve semi-automated using:
*Webhooks data - from my books table from the webhook, I create a Cleaning Status sheet with the current and next guests.
*Payment request notifications - for 2/3 of my properties, the cleaning manager sends a payment request when the cleaning is complete so I watch for this in Zapier and check a box in the Cleaning Status sheet to indicate the cleaning is done.
*From that cleaning sheet, I have a google script looking through every morning to make sure properties are ready for the next guest — if not, it sends an email alert. Also, it alerts me of same-day turnovers to keep an eye on.
*I’ve tried to use Seam, Macrodroid and more to generate email alerts when the cleaning code has been used. Seam doesn’t seem to provide at my sub level. Macrodroid or other phone notification monitors suffer from inconsistency in the Schlage notifications.
