I’d like to be able to construct URLs in my messaging templates and have a segment of the URL resolve to a specific property. I can’t use the %property_name% shortcode because it usually has spaces in it. I need a string that is URL-safe. It doesn’t need to have any semantic meaning, so the internal Hospitable Property ID seems like the perfect thing to use. But there’s no shortcode for that!
Examples:
A digital guestbook for each property:
https://myguestbook.com/%property_id%
A TinyURL alias that forwards to a calendar of events for a specific property:
https://tinyurl.com/things_to_do_at_%property_id%
Or even a link to our Hospitable Direct listing page for a given property:
“Next time ditch the fees and book direct with us at beachbox.directstays.com/property/%property_id%”
Right now the only way to achieve this functionality is to create a separate message template for each property (with single-property scoping), and hard-code the property ID into each message. If there was a %property_id% shortcode, I could have a single message template that works across ALL properties :-)
