Cleaners currently receive booking and change notifications far in advance, which creates notification fatigue and reduces the likelihood that important, near-term updates are noticed. While long-range booking visibility is valuable for property managers and revenue managers, it is not actionable for cleaners whose work is operational and short-term.
Current Workaround
Operators either leave cleaners over-notified or disable notifications entirely and manage weekly schedules manually, which adds operational overhead and increases the risk of missed updates.
Proposed Solution
Introduce role-based notification controls, specifically for cleaners, including:
Notification Time Horizon
Allow operators to set a notification window (e.g. notify cleaners only for tasks occurring within the next 7 or 14 days).
Weekly Cleaner Digest
An optional automated weekly summary (email or in-app) showing:
Property
Cleaning date
Expected start time
Notes or special instructions
Exception-Only Alerts
Outside the notification window, cleaners would only receive alerts for:
Same-day or next-day bookings
Cancellations
Schedule changes
Added tasks or special requirements
Why This Matters
Reduces notification fatigue for cleaners
Improves task reliability and execution
Aligns information delivery with team roles
Allows managers to retain real-time booking visibility without overloading operational staff
Outcome
Cleaner teams focus on what matters this week, managers retain full visibility, and overall operational quality improves.
