Enhancing Calendar Functionality for Optimal Asset, Service and Resource Management - rollaways, parking, add-ons and extra amenities
As a dedicated user of Hospitable, Iβve appreciated most of the simplified features it provides for small to medium size vacation stay management. I'd like to discuss a potential enhancement that could significantly improve the functionality and user experience of your app, particularly for those managing multiple add-on services and amenities.
Current Challenges: At present, I manage four rooms with limited additional amenities, such as only two parking spaces, bicycles, or rollaways. Currently, there's no straightforward way to view, schedule, or manage these add-ons in your system. Understanding their availability at a glance is crucial for efficient management and customer satisfaction.
Proposed Solutions:
At-a-Glance Add-On Overview:
Introduce a feature allowing users to have a comprehensive view of available add-ons, alongside the ability to schedule them. This would significantly streamline the management process.
Improved Task Management System:
While attempting to use your task management system as a workaround by assigning tasks to a 'teammate' named "PARKING SPACE", I realized this isn't efficient. Renaming task categories to reflect actual add-ons like parking or bicycles could be a simple yet effective solution.
iCal Integration:
The ability to import iCal feeds for add-ons would provide a straightforward fix. Enabling the import of external calendars would offer users the flexibility to incorporate a wide range of schedules and events into their planning. Users could sync calendars for local events, holidays, conventions or specific add-ons, ensuring better planning and resource allocation.
Dedicated Bookable Items Module:
Consider allowing the addition of bookable items (akin to a room) that aren't part of an existing channel. I've experimented with duplicating a room on Airbnb to simulate this, but it's cumbersome. A more streamlined, dedicated feature would be highly beneficial.
Asset/Resource Management Module:
A specialized module, similar to the task management system but focused on services or assets or resource management, would greatly enhance the app's capabilities. This would allow users to manage rooms, add-ons, and amenities with ease and precision.
Closing Thoughts: In my extensive experience in the hospitality industry, I've seen the significant impact specialized software can have on operational efficiency. But you canβt expect small operations like mine to purchase additional software for every gap left by traditional channel managers. For smaller operations, an all-in-one solution like Hospitable becomes even more critical. The ability to manage every aspect, from rooms to add-ons, within one platform would position Hospitable as an invaluable tool for small to medium-sized property managers.
I believe these enhancements would not only benefit my operations but also appeal to a broader user base seeking comprehensive management solutions - something more than just a channel manager.
Your commitment to user satisfaction and continuous improvement is one of the reasons I choose Hospitable.
Thank you for considering my suggestions.
