I'm a Superhost managing 2 STRs in Lake Tahoe. I'm not a developer, but I recently set up an AI assistant (OpenClaw) to help automate guest communication and property management using your V2 Public API.
My assistant has been amazing so far — handling guest messages, sending pre-arrival guides, tracking bookings, etc. But there are a few things it can't do because the API doesn't expose them yet. These would be huge time-savers for hosts like me, so I wanted to share them as feature requests:
### 1. Accept/Decline Booking Requests Automatically (High Priority)
What I can't do now: I still have to manually accept or decline every booking request in the Hospitable app.
What I want: Let my assistant automatically screen and accept/decline bookings based on rules I set:
- Auto-accept repeat guests (like Courtney, who's stayed 4 times!)
- Check if guests have good reviews from other hosts
- Flag first-time Airbnb users for me to review personally
- Verify pet count, party size, special requests
- Send personalized confirmation messages right away
Impact: This would save me 30-60 minutes per week just for 2 properties. I'd only need to step in for edge cases.
Technical note (for your dev team): My assistant can already read reservations — just needs endpoints to accept/decline them programmatically.
### 2. Read and Submit Guest Reviews Automatically (High Priority)
What I can't do now: My assistant can't see guest reviews or submit reviews after checkout.
What I want:
- Screen booking requests better — check if a guest has sketchy reviews from other hosts before I accept
- Submit reviews automatically — my assistant could write personalized reviews based on how the stay went (cleanliness, communication, whether they followed house rules)
- Never miss the 14-day deadline — I forget to submit reviews sometimes, and that hurts my listing
Impact: Better guest quality (avoid problem guests) + consistent reviews (helps my Superhost status).
Technical note: My assistant tracks stay details (check-in/out times, guest messages, etc.) — just needs API access to read/write reviews.
### 3. Use My Saved Message Templates Automatically (Medium Priority)
What I can't do now: I've spent a lot of time creating message templates in Hospitable (pre-arrival guides, storm warnings, check-in instructions, etc.). But my assistant can't access them — it has to send messages from scratch.
What I want: Let my assistant trigger my existing templates automatically:
- Send pre-arrival guide 48 hours before check-in
- Alert guests about Tahoe winter storms (I-80 closures, chain requirements)
- Send check-in instructions at 3pm on arrival day
- Thank guests after checkout
Why it matters: I don't want to duplicate all my templates just to use automation. I've already done the work in Hospitable — I just want my assistant to be able to use them.
Technical note: Even read-only access would be helpful — my assistant could pull template text and send it via the existing messages endpoint.
### Bonus Requests (Lower Priority)
4. Financial Breakdown per Reservation
- Currently: Only see total payout amounts
- Want: Itemized view (accommodation, cleaning fee, taxes, Airbnb service fee)
- Use case: Revenue analytics, accounting reconciliation
5. Filter Payouts by Property
- Currently: API returns all payouts mixed together (both properties)
- Want: Separate monthly reports per property
6. Smart Lock Code Generation
- Currently: Can read codes for existing reservations
- Want: Generate new codes (backup codes for lockouts)
