Add flexible day-of-week scheduling for post-checkout tasks
Problem Statement:
- Current task rules only support triggers like "immediately after checkout" or "X hours after checkout"
- Hosts cannot schedule tasks to run on a specific day of the week following a checkout (e.g., "the Tuesday after checkout")
- This creates operational friction when hosts want to batch certain tasks (like garbage collection) on specific days
Current Workaround:
- Hosts must manually create tasks or use recurring weekly tasks that run every Tuesday regardless of whether there was a checkout
- This leads to unnecessary tasks being created on weeks with no turnover
Impact:
- Wasted time managing tasks that aren't needed
- Confusion for cleaning teams about which tasks are actually required
- Reduced control over task scheduling flexibility
Proposed Solution:
- Add a task trigger option that allows scheduling tasks on a specific day of the week after checkout (e.g., "next Tuesday after checkout")
- This could be implemented as a new trigger type in the task rules settings
Unlock:
- Hosts can schedule tasks to run on specific days following checkout, reducing unnecessary task creation
- Cleaning teams receive only relevant tasks, improving efficiency
- Greater flexibility in managing property operations
